Report: CEFC pays no salaries to employees for 2 months
BEIJING, May 4 (PRIME) -- CEFC China Energy, which promised to pay U.S. $9.1 billion for a 14.16% stake in Russian oil major Rosneft, has not paid salaries for two months, business newspaper Caixin reported on Friday.
CEFC problems started in March, the CEO is investigated on suspicions of committing economic crimes, and, according to media reports, the company faced troubles when trying to raise credit to pay for the Rosneft stake.
CEFC said in September 2017 that it will buy the Rosneft stake from a consortium of Glencore and the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), strengthening energy ties between Moscow and Beijing.
